So yesterday and today I got to work on the set of Mad Men with Art Streiber. Mad Men is a very cool show on AMC. Yesterday we were shooting the main cast in character just against white and the costumes were amazing. The whole show is impeccable. We shot on the paramount lot in downtown LA and had a great time. Today we were still on the same lot but shooting in the Sterling Cooper office set. It really was like walking into a different era I loved it. From the old school cigarettes and sweets to the typewriters and furniture it was all straight out of the 60s.
Today was a relativity quick day and I got a chance to make it over to Screaming Broccoli for the Julia Dean Workshop series Photographers on Photography. Tonight's guest was Tony Duran and Art Streiber the photographer I work for was moderating. Loads of Tonys work was shown and he got to speak about how he works and how he sees light and how he creates his amazing images. If you dont know Tonys work go HERE and check it out. Tony is a Hollywood Glam photographer. He takes pictures of huge celebrities and makes them look sexy and beautiful. He almost always uses natural light and maybe just a reflector to blast some light. Unlike most photographers Tony loves to shoot at Noon b/c he loves the contrast and bright striking light. Tony also shoots mostly at his house in Beverly Hills so he knows where the light is and to get the celebrities and models to feel comfortable and willing to let there inhibitions go a little! Hes constantly shooting and has become one of hollywoods best photographers.
