First Week of Training
my first week of training went really well. I didnt push myself to hard. I got some new running shoes which are amazing and they seem to really help. I've been eating really well as well in an effort to stay healthy and injury free. I really dont like drinking Milk but I do like cereal and Chocolate milk so Ive been eating Total cereal with milk and I've been drinking chocolate milk after runs. Apparently choc milk is better for post training than drinking a Gatorade or powerade. The ratio of nutrients is perfect in a glass of choc milk to help in recovery. I did a lot of cross training, this past week. I did some hiking up big hills and I walked on the beach barefoot for about 2 hours. I really want to get into some barefoot running. I think with my next paycheck I'm going to buy some of those crazy barefoot running shoes. Check them out HERE. They are pretty goofy looking but lots of people say they help you run more naturally and injury free. Its been raining a lot here lately and I love to run in the rain. Well more later.

Training
So I'm going to start training on starting monday. I'm super excited to get back into shape and hopefully I can keep focused and stay injury free. I'm going to do everything I can to keep on running and stay healthy. I really want to run a marathon this year so thats going to take a lot of training. My marathon is going to be sometime in November or December so I have a while. I'm a little worried b/c I've been plagued by running injuries every since my last year of collegiate running almost 2 and half years ago. Everytime I start training I get a month in and my knees just wont let me continue. But not this time, I'm going to training safe but hard. Sometime soon I'm going to join a gym with a pool so I can do some water training to give my legs some rest while still working my muscles and getting good cardio.

2010
So it's 2010. End of a decade. Crazy.
I cant believe how fast these years keep flying by. I had a conversation with my Granpa the other day and I mentioned how fast this year seemed to go by. He just laughed at me saying that things just go by faster and faster as you get older. Whereas I'm surprised how fast this year went by he cant believe how fast these past 20 years went by. He remembers me as a toddler running around his house causing mischief and is always taken aback when he sees me all grown up.
Hopefully this year wont go by quite as fast as 2009, I hardly had time to appreciate it. This year I have a lot to accomplish and I better get started on it or next thing I know I'll be popping champagne in my tux giving everyone New Years kisses for 2011.
So this year, I really want to Run a 1/2 Marathon and a Full Marathon. I'm going to get back into swimming this year so I can do some triathlons with my sister. We have both decided that instead of flying to each others respective cities to visit we are going to both fly to a new place for a triathlon. Sibling bonding. I dont want to lose the amazing friendship I have with my sister b/c we live on different sides of the country.
What else am I going to do...
Be Logical and intentional in everything I do.
Go to a laker game
Eat at the Kogi BBQ truck
Read more, I'm not the fastest reader so I'm going to stick with 1 or 2 books a month Depending on the font size!!
Find someone to run with in LA
Find someone to Mountain Bike with
Do some more rock climbing
On a side note, I'm going to make a bunch of money and go to south africa for the world cup. maybe. probably not.
