Made it to San Antonio barely!
So I made it to San Antonio just in time. I pulled into Randolph Air Force Base to see my best friend scott and my radiator cracked and exploded! I signed in at the guard shack and my engine just overheated and blew up. I wasnt running my jeep into the ground or pounding it hard, I was taking my time and driving slow but the combination of old jeep, trailer and road vibrations and increasing outside temperature screwed me over. Pictures soon. So I'm going to be staying in San Antonio a few more days than I thought I was going to! I guess I wont be eating for a couple months to pay for my new radiator.
now for the good news, scott is doing well and the weather is perfect and the New Castle Brown Ale is chilled and tastes as good in Texas as it does in England.
More later, time to relax and grab some thai food

New Orleans
My New Orleans adventure is coming to an end. It has been a blast being back down in New Orleans even for a short day and half. After a late start to the day Ben and I went and grabbed some diner food at Camellia Grill. A bit of wait but well worth it. Fantastic burger and waffles! After that we wondered around ran a few errands and ended up at coldstone creamery for a spot of ice cream. For dinner we made our way over to Vincents Italian restaurant which is really close to bens place. A really nice restaurant with great atmosphere and really nice wait staff. We had some of the best calamari I've ever had and I had their house Cannelloni stuffed with white veal and spinach all on a bed of cheese and white sauce. We rounded out the meal with a delicious tiramisu. Feeling quite content I retired to my smoking room for some brandy and a cigaaar... or a beer and bed. Pictures to come later.
I'm off to San Antonio in the AM.

Crazy trip across the country
Leg one across the country is down south to New Orleans, not the most direct route to LA but I thought I'd make a trip out of it.

cabo cantina
So Cabo Cantina gets mixed reviews on yelp and other review sites but I love it! They have amazing specials all week long and happy hour is 5-8 and its 2 for 1 everything. So you can get 2 huge patron margaritas for the price of one or just 2 tacantes for the price of 1 which is what I did! For eats I got a burrito cantina style which means its got cheese and guac in it along with steak or chicken - fantastic! Their guacumole is incredible. I went with my two good friends Robb and Katie and we had a great time.

just got back from LA
Just got back from a trip to LA, which was fantastic! I love that city, in fact I like it so much I'm going to move out there in a couple weeks. While I was out there I stayed a couple nights with my good friend and fantastic photographer Evan Saunders and I stayed the rest of the time with my friend Katie whos an actress out there! I made my rounds to all the photo studios in town to check them out and make some contacts. I got a chance to meet with Art Streibers studio manager and made some new friends over at 5th and sunset studios. 5th and sunset is a huge studio space with a full kitchen and cappacino bar as well as an awesome ping pong table! One of my favorite studios I visited was Tripod, a small portrait studio near the ocean. The owner Peter was really pleased to have visitors and told me all about the studio. He has some amazing landscape photography decorating the walls of his studio. I wasnt sure who shot the images, probably Peter himself but they were really nice.
While in LA I had to find a good English pub, being from England this is a necessity in any new city! I met with some friends at Ye Olde Kings Head in Santa Monica. Nothing like Boddingtons on tap and a spot of Shepard pie. I'm usually skeptical of fish and chips outside of England but my friend Hillary got them and I polished them off when she had enough and they were really tasty. Well worth the visit.
Another two of my highlights from my week in LA were treking up to the observatory and hiking up Runyon Canyon. The observatory was really cool, they shot a few movies up there most recently they shot transformers up there. They have a bust of James Dean up at the top b/c they shot Rebal Without a Cause up there. Pretty neat! From the top you can see for miles and miles and see the expanse of the city and the smog, gross. If you turn away from the city you can see the hollwood sign clearly up on the side of the valley. Heres the city along with a sweet spot of dust on my lens :( and here is the hollywood sign. I did manage to spend an afternoon on the beach and it just so happened to be the only semi cool day in LA that week hence the jeans and long sleeves! I even got a chance to experience Pinks, I got a Bacon chili cheese dog. This thing was a beast check it out. It was really hard to eat!
